Tentative Agenda

Discuss input from NOFIC PIs
1. Suggested updates for the publication policy

  • We [encourage | recommend | require] each paper that\result from 4DN work to be made public via bioRxiv at the time of initial submission to a journal; * The consortium acknowledges that papers posted on bioRxiv as considered publications for all practical purposes, e.g. should be cited (failure to cite ideas, methods, concepts, tools and approaches can be considered a\plagiarism); co-submissions to bioRxiv can be coordinated, can be reported against milestones etc
  • An abstract of a paper should be submitted to the abstract database no later than 6 months in advance of submission to a journal.
  • People are encouraged to start collaborations when related works are submitted to the abstract database or published on bioRxiv.

2. Discuss suggested data release policy

  • Data is released when producing center/unit is feel that the data quality is sufficient to release, but no later than at the time of initial submission for publication;
  • [Bing Ren’s suggestion] Describe how we would like to see released data used\ * for analysis, development and testing of new analysis tools * for comparison with other datasets * (anything else?) * any publication or inclusion in publications of results of such data use\need to be coordinated with the center/unit that produced the data
