D., is an Associate Professor of Genetics and Cell Biology at Yale School of Medicine. Research in his lab focuses on the development and application of state-of-the-art image-based omics approaches to understand the spatial organization of mammalian genome and transcriptome, and how they impact cellular states. Originally from China, Dr. Wang received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Peking University in 2007. He then moved to the US and received a Ph. D. in Molecular Biology from Princeton in 2011 and later his postdoctoral training at Harvard. In 2017 he was appointed Assistant Professor by Yale University, and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2023. |

- | My research program, ‘Regeneration Genomics’, focuses on unraveling gene regulatory mechanisms driving cell fate changes during embryonic development and tissue regeneration, and understanding how these processes are disrupted in human diseases. In our quest to decode the fundamental mechanisms of gene regulation, we have also developed several cutting-edge genome profiling and engineering tools, including CREST-seq, HiCAR, CARGO-BioID, and scHiCAR, that benefit both our research and the broader scientific community. Prior to starting my own lab at Duke Cell Biology in 2018, I received my PhD from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where I studied skeletal muscle differentiation and regeneration. I was also a Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) Postdoctoral Fellow, trained with Dr. Bing Ren at UCSD. | +

- | Yang Xie is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Bing Ren lab at UC San Diego. His graduate research focuses on developing high-throughput single-cell sequencing techniques to explore the epigenomic diversity of mammalian brains. Utilizing these new methods, he aims to uncover how the epigenomic dysregulation contributes to neurodisorders and diseases. | +
- | ===== HOW TO Join the Webinar ===== | + | Julian is a biologist oriented to study the mechanisms that regulate cell fate and to develop lineage conversion strategies to generate clinically relevant cell types in vitro. He works as a Senior Scientist in the laboratory of Danwei Huangfu at the Memorial Sloan Kettering and is currently in the job market to start his own laboratory. His current research aims to elucidate the epigenetic factors that support cellular plasticity in pluripotent stem cells. |
