As a postdoc at the ETH in Zurich with Helge Ewers he developed nanobody labeling for single-molecule localization microscopy. Since 2012 he is a group leader at the EMBL in Heidelberg, where he pushes the resolution of superresolution microscopy to address questions in structural cell biology.
