Lam Distinguished Professor and Chair Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Medicine Professor of Hematology & Oncology Harold Albin Johnson Endowed Chair in Biomedical Research UC Davis NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center University of California Davis kslam@ucdavis.edu Title: The use of OBOC combinatorial library method to discover Genetically Encoded Small Illuminants for cellular imaging Professor Kit Lam was born and raised in Hong Kong. He is a physician-scientist and an expert in combinatorial chemistry, peptide chemistry, chemical biology, drug discovery and development, molecular imaging, nanotherapeutics and medical oncology. He obtained his B.A. in Microbiology in 1975 at the University of Texas at Austin, his Ph.D. in Oncology in 1980 from McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, University of Wisconsin, and his M.D. in 1984 from Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training and Medical Oncology Fellowship training at the University of Arizona. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. He is currently Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, University of California Davis School of Medicine. He has made a seminal scientific contribution through the development of the one-bead-one-compound (OBOC) approach to combinatorial chemistry, and has successfully applied it to basic research and drug discovery. He has published over 350 peer-reviewed scientific publications and holds over 25 patents on inventions. ---- 8:30-8:50 am Pacific Time, then 10-minute discussion and Q&A Suhas Rao Graduate Student Stanford University suhas@suhasrao.com Title: Tracking the 4D nucleome during cohesin loss and recovery Suhas Rao is a graduate student in the MD/PhD program at Stanford University working with Erez Lieberman Aiden (Baylor College of Medicine) and Roger Kornberg (Stanford University). He is broadly interested in dissecting the mechanisms governing chromosome structure and has helped developed new technologies to read and write the three dimensional structure of the genome with high precision. ---- |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ HOW to Join the webinar: |Scientific Webinar Series| |The 4th Friday of every month, from Friday, May 27, 2016, to Friday, December 22, 2017| |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ 8:00 am~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~| Pacific Daylight Time (San Francisco, GMT-07:00) | 1 hr ~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_STOP~~| |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ Click on this link to connect to the meeting:~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~http://bit.ly/4dn-sws ~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_STOP~~| |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ Join WebEx meeting ~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~ ~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_STOP~~| |Meeting number:|806 933 860| |Meeting password:|BP25bfPj| Join by phone |+1-415-655-0002~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~US Toll| | Access code:~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~806 933 860| |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ Add this meeting~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~to your calendar.
