Paul Fields did his undergrad work at Pomona College majoring in biology. He received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the lab of Dr. Laurie Boyer where his work focused on understanding the role of the histone variant H2A.Z in embryonic stem cell regulation. He is now a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Washington with Dr. Chuck Murry studying the role of chromatin organization during human cardiomyocyte differentiation. ---- 8:30-8:50 am Pacific Time, then 20-minute discussion and 10-minute Q&A Caroline Bartman Graduate Student University of Pennsylvania cbartman1@gmail.com Title: Frequency modulation of polymerase recruitment via transcriptional bursting is a dominant mode of transcriptional regulation Caroline Bartman is a graduate student in the labs of Arjun Raj and Gerd Blobel. This webinar will discuss her work identifying which steps of transcription are regulated by different biological perturbations by using a combination of Pol II ChIP-seq and nascent transcript RNA FISH. ---- |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ HOW to Join the webinar: |Scientific Webinar Series| |The 4th Friday of every month, from Friday, May 27, 2016, to no end date| |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ 8:00 am~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~| Pacific Daylight Time (San Francisco, GMT-07:00) | 1 hr ~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_STOP~~| |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ Click on this link to connect to the meeting:~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~https://4dnucleome.webex.com/4dnucleome/j.php?MTID=md022feb98e8a2583384c2f07114ac51c~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~or http://bit.ly/4dn-sci\\ ~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~ ~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_STOP~~| |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ Join WebEx meeting ~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~ ~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_STOP~~| |Meeting number:|807 023 120~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~ | |Meeting password:|pb9MpJc8| Join by phone |+1-415-655-0002~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~US Toll| | Access code:~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~807 023 120| |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ Add this meeting~~CKG_TABLE_NBSP~~to your calendar.
