==== June 2016 Call Notes ==== |~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_START~~ Attendees: Nils Gehlenborg, Lisa Chadwick, Olivier Blondel, Stephanie Alexander, Timothee Lionett, Iddil Bekirov (Notes: Matt Roy, HMS) \__ Introductory conversation regarding having a structure to improve policy meeting input/feedback 1) Feedback on publication policy * Is intellectual property respectfully credited within the 4DN? * How can we assure the consortium is most productive to our mission while respecting rights in academia * How will policies be approved? * Chair of the Policy Working Group (WG) will present findings to the Steering Committee(SC) for consensus. \__The Working group will then vote on the SC’s findings * Chair needs feedback for the policy to have it appease the entire consortium and pass through 2) Regarding the expectation to send software published before data * Releasing the IP of trainees could endanger career path * \__While for internal use only, data documentation needs to be prioritized and manuscript tracking may be inadequate * Action item: provide clear policy guidelines with data from 4DN programs office for regulation assurance of sensitive software * Add preface lines to this guidelines remind consortium of its mission * Great policy will provide for reassuring regulatory operations to protect IP * \__Remind consortium of need to share and collaborate * Need to be sure to not allow conflicts of interest in reviewing of articles that had accessible information through consortium * Not a foreseeable conflict at this time 3) Other business: Availability Imaging data * Undecided if feasible to provide all imaging data publicly or to make it accessible via request * Is there a way to create a commons or forum in an accessible shape such that biological conclusions could be drawn? * Could the consortium gain access on an efficient timeline to share vital imaging data? * At such time, can’t imaging be made public to open * While both genomic and imaging data need to be made public as quickly as possible, though how to best outline policy * How can embargoes most effectively protect IP of all members while allowing research to benefit ~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_STOP~~|
