Tier 1 cell lines vs rest? * based on funding mechanism? * general task for DCIC: clearly label data sets that have not been QCed using an agreed upon QC standard * new data types should always come with a description or guidelines defining how to analyze and interpret it (that would typically be part of the first publication describing the new data type) b. How to determine what a new/emerging technology is? * discussed options for dealing with two tiered data release: technology development vs production * might need exemptions similar to exemptions provided in publication policy * could lead to issues with patenting of new technologies c.
