Proposal to Rename Working Group** * Nils proposes to rename the working group to "Policy Working Group" to reflect the full scope of our mission. **2. Publication and Software Sharing Policy** * Summary of Nils' conversation with IP lawyer regarding sharing of abstracts and manuscripts and consequences. * Additional feedback on policies by 4DN members, if any. * Submitting publication and software sharing policies for final discussion by Steering Committee during July 19 call **3. Data Release Policy** * We will have a wider discussion about data release at the annual meeting, until then we should have identified and possibly addressed major concerns regarding immediate data sharing.\__NIH essentially expects that data will be shared publicly (not only within the consortium) as soon as it has been produced. Data will be shared through the DCIC. * Concerns regarding data sharing that were identified and need to be addressed (in our data release policy or elsewhere): * Investigators are concerned about releasing data that has not been fully vetted (which is often only the case when a manuscript is about to be submitted) * possible response: DCIC will compute consortium-approved QC metrics on all data sets before releasing them. * Investigators are concerned that they will get scooped. * possible response: The will be an embargo period during which nobody outside 4DN?/data production group? can publish on the data. * Other concerns? * The omics and imaging standards working groups need to clarify what data should be released. This might be pretty straightforward for omics data but will be challenging for imaging data. **4. Any Other Business** ~~TABLE_CELL_WRAP_STOP~~|
