Members and Associates

Number of grants: A total of 29 grants are funded, including 6 in U54 mechanism and 23 in U01 mechanism.

Number of PIs: There are 53 PIs and co-PIs, among whom 51 are distinct PIs.

Number of institutes and sites: The grants are made to 40 institutions, including 25 contact-PI Institutions.

Number of TCPAs: A total of 10 Transformative Collaborative Project Awards (TCPA).

Number of Associate Members: A total of 5 associate members, until November 21, 2018.

Access the 4DN Directory

A centralized and integrated system for all 4DN personnel information where members can access the information of all 4DN members. The Organizational Hub is requesting all 4DN PIs including TCPA PIs and associate members to make the member information of their group up to date.

• Resources directly managed by OH are accessible via one account (4DN Wiki and 4DN Directory).

• Resetting login credential has been streamlined to make the entire process easier.

• 4DN Directory also serves as a personnel management system. Once you are logged in, you will be able to update information that are accessible. If you are a PI, you will be able to add, update or inactivate your lab members;

• You may search the entire consortium for any member, get their up-to-date information and/or contact them via email in the directory directly.

Appendix: Basic operations for 4DN Directory

• Login

• Login button is on the top-right corner

• You may login with your registered email or 4DN Wiki username, and 4DN Wiki password, or via one of the 3rd party services (Google, GitHub or Facebook)

• Once you log in, your name will appear at the top-right corner.

• Regain access

• If you cannot login, you can use “CANNOT ACCESS?” button, then provide either your registered email, or your 4DN Wiki username.

• You will be receiving a reset link in your email and the link will be active for 6 hours.

• If you have multiple email addresses and are not sure what email address you registered with us, you can use the “Send email to a 4DN member” function (see below) to send an email to yourself, then check which of your email addresses has received the message.

• Browse the directory

• This is the landing page of 4DN Directory. No login required;

• Use the search function to find the member by name;

• Click on the row to see details of the member information (detailed information will only be shown after you log in)

• Send email to a 4DN member

• Use the “Send an email” button to the right of any 4DN user in the directory

• If you have logged in, the system will automatically populate your information, otherwise you will need to provide your contact information to send an email.

• The exact email address of the member will not be shown if you are not logged in.

• Update your information

• Login required

• Use the “My profile” link to the left of the page (if it doesn’t show, use the menu button to the left of “4DN Directory / Personnel Management System” to show the menu)

• Update your profile then click “Update”

• Add a new member (PI and Project administrators only)

• Login required

• You should be able to see “ADD NEW USER” button when browsing the directory to the left of the search box.

• Use the popped-out interface to add a new user. If you are a PI, the new user will be automatically assigned to your lab. If you are participating in multiple grants, please assign at least one grant to the member.

• Once you add a user, a welcome email will be sent to the email address you just provided, please let the user activate their account within 6 hours.

• Updating your member (PI and Project administrators only)

• Login required

• You should be able to see an edit button to the right of all your lab members.

• Click the button to edit your member’s information.

• If your member cannot access 4DN Directory or 4DN Wiki, you may generate a reset link for them as well.

• Inactivate your member (PI and Project administrators only)

• Login required.

• If your member has left 4DN, you can inactivate them via the “Inactivate user” button.

• Inactive members will not appear in 4DN Directory and will not be able to log onto any 4DN resources.

• Manage your team (PI and Project administrators only)

• Login required

• You should be able to see “Manage my team” to the left of the page.

• Here you can see inactive members in your team (you may sort by the first column) and choose to reactivate them if you want.

To send an email to everyone in the contact list, please use 4dn-network@4dnucleome.org.

A mailing list for all 4DN PIs have been created. PIs can send information to fellow 4DN PIs via 4dn-pis@4dnucleome.org. PIs may also see member lists, change profile settings on groups.4dnucleome.org.
