Introductory conversation regarding having a structure to improve policy meeting input/feedback
1) Feedback on publication policy
* Is intellectual property respectfully credited within the 4DN?
* How can we assure the consortium is most productive to our mission while respecting rights in academia
* How will policies be approved?
* Chair of the Policy Working Group (WG) will present findings to the Steering Committee(SC) for consensus. \The Working group will then vote on the SC’s findings
2) Regarding the expectation to send software published before data
Releasing the IP of trainees could endanger career path
\While for internal use only, data documentation needs to be prioritized and manuscript tracking may be inadequate
* Action item: provide clear policy guidelines with data from 4DN programs office for regulation assurance of sensitive software
* Add preface lines to this guidelines remind consortium of its mission
* Great policy will provide for reassuring regulatory operations to protect IP
* \Remind consortium of need to share and collaborate
Need to be sure to not allow conflicts of interest in reviewing of articles that had accessible information through consortium
3) Other business: Availability Imaging data
Undecided if feasible to provide all imaging data publicly or to make it accessible via request
Is there a way to create a commons or forum in an accessible shape such that biological conclusions could be drawn?
Could the consortium gain access on an efficient timeline to share vital imaging data?
How can embargoes most effectively protect IP of all members while allowing research to benefit
