Since the old 4DN Wiki is implemented with Google Sites Classic, if you could log in to it, it is very likely that you did it via a Google account and your registered email at 4DN may be the alternative email of your Google account. When 4DN Organizational Hub migrate user data to the new 4DN Wiki, your registered email is migrated as well and will be recognized if it is associated with your Google account.

The following steps are the recommended procedures to log in to the new 4DN Wiki for the first time:

1. Go to 4DN Wiki at https://wiki.4dnucleome.org
2. Click on the “Log In” button on top right.
   
3. On the Log In screen, use “Sign in with Google” button. Don't use username or password, or the “Set new password” link as is shown in the figure below.
   
4. You will be redirected to the Google login page. Use the Google account you used for the old 4DN Wiki, make sure that: - there is a padlock sign to the left of the URL;
   1. the URL starts with “https://accounts.google.com/”
   2. the page says “4dnucleome.org”.
      
5. Google will ask if you want to Grant 4dnucleome.org permission to view your email addresses. Since we need to check if your registered email address is among the alternative email(s) of your Google account, please grant this permission.
   
6. Google will let you confirm in the next screen if you want to 4dnucleome.org to view your email addresses. Leave the checkbox checked and Allow.
   
7. If your registered email address is your Google account email address, or is (one of) your Google account alternative address(es), you will be successfully logged in at this step. To create a password, link another account or unlink your accounts, use the User Menu at the top right corner.
   
8. Click update profile to update your profile.
   
9. On your user profile page, you can see your username and registered email address with 4DN. - You may add a password so you can login with your username and password next time. You will need to click “Save” if you do so.
   1. You may link a new account (Google, Github or Facebook) for login purposes.
   2. You may unlink a previously linked account. Note: if you have not set up a password and have unlinked all your accounts, you will not be able to log in. However, you can still use the “Set new password” function in Step 3 to generate a new password.
      

If you cannot log in to the new 4DN Wiki after following the procedure listed above, please email to oh@4dnucleome.org?subject=4DN Wiki Login Issue and kindly provide us the following information:

1. your name;
2. the Google account you used to login / wishes to use for login, or;
3. that you don't wish to use a Google account to login and would like to use a username/password pair instead.
