Born and raised in Houston, Texas. Doctoral candidate in the Center for Genome Architecture at Baylor College of Medicine. Trying to perfect his macaron recipe in city with an average humidity of 90%.

PhD Student
Title: “Nuclear architecture regulates the anatomic pattern of olfactory receptor expression in the olfactory epithelium”
Lisa Bashkirova is a PhD student in Cellular, Molecular and Biomedical Studies at Columbia University, advised by Stavros Lomvardas. Her current research focuses on the role of chromatin state and nuclear architecture in olfactory receptor choice. Previously, she worked in the laboratory of Anthony Oro at Stanford University, developing stem cell therapies. She received her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
