Roel Neijts
Postdoc
Institute Pasteur
Title: “Exploring the TAD: specific enhancer-promoter interactions within regulatory domains”
Roel Neijts is a post-doc in the lab of François Spitz at Institut Pasteur (Paris, France) since May 2017. He is interested in the specificity and dynamics of long range interactions between enhancers and promoters during embryogenesis. Roel is developing tools to visualize promoter-enhancer interactions – coupled to transcription dynamics – in real time, together with the lab of Thomas Gregor, as well as investigates in vivo how modifications of genome architectural elements may impact developmental robustness. Roel performed his PhD (2017) in het laboratory of Jacqueline Deschamps at the Hubrecht Institute (Utrecht, the Netherlands), on the regulatory landscapes of Hox clusters and on the regulatory mechanisms of Cdx genes during mouse development.

Arturas Petronis
PhD
Center for Addiction and Mental Health
Title: “Spatiotemporal dynamics of chromatin: the circadian perspective”
Art Petronis graduated from Kaunas Medical University, Lithuania, and he worked on his PhD at the Brain Research Institute in Moscow. Dr Petronis completed his post-doctoral training at the Clarke Institute of Psychiatry, Toronto, and since 1997 he has been a faculty at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and University of Toronto. Currently Dr. Petronis is Professor and Head of the Krembil Family Epigenetics Laboratory. He is also Tapscott Chair for Schizophrenia Studies at the University of Toronto. His research is dedicated to the elucidation of the role of epigenetic factors in complex non-Mendelian brain diseases such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Dr. Petronis published over 100 papers and book chapters.
