Aim and scope:

• Emphasis is on consolidating intra-consortium interactions at this early stage of Phase II.

• Aim for connecting people across the network, between projects, groups, PIs-trainees, including robust discussions on specific topics amongst small groups, to build the 4DN phase II community.

• Diversify who is presenting, not only PIs. Diversify sessions, such as lightning talks or poster presentations.

• Phase I/Working group progress could be reported by PIs. Interest group updates could be presented by non-PIs.

• Consider “Phase II Joint Analyses”-like effort specific to the aims of 4DN-phase II (Jennifer Cremins-Phillips, C.-Ting Wu)

Length: Virtual – 3 days, 6h each day, with breaks (8am-2pm PST?)

There will be two types of abstracts:

1. Oral presentation - is a scientific talk with results and data. If selected for presentation, the author will be given 5 or 10 minutes (including Q&A) for the talk.

2. Blue-sky pitch - is for describing a futuristic or collaborative research idea. If selected for presentation, the author will be given 5 minutes to present a futuristic (blue sky) idea. The Blue sky pitches do not require research results or data.
